BC Please

I'm normally 1 that does not ask for much. I've never really cared about Backwards Compatibility but my 360 died a few weeks ago. I have over 100 games that I never got to play or finish. Not counting the free ones. It just bugs me for some reason.
Mostly because I never finished Batman Origins. Anyone else in the same boat or close to it?

how non backwards compatible might hurt xbox

BC doesn't hurt xbox as much as not make people move to sony, XBOX needed BC to say "oh god please don't leave".

yeah, if you have such a huge backlog, it'd be easier to just buy a used system.

 

This is exactly why I play games when I buy them and finish them once I start. Backwards compatibility isn't going to happen. Buy a new 360 or move on with your life.

 

Am I the only person who came here thinking this was about the Bad Company series haha..

 

You best bet is to pick up a secondhand system to play your games.

 

I have mine safe and sound, ready for when I get more space to put it through the HD pass through or what ever its called. I doubt BC will ever come, but so long as my 360 works, its all gravy

 

I came here thinking this thread was about BC (Dino/Caveman game which was 2B developed for the Original Xbox) and was surprised.

Back to topic. Watch your local Pawnshop, Flee market, Goodwill, Consignment shop, Thrift Store, or Yard sale. You can sometimes pick up a quality used xbox 360 for around $50.00 or less, some even with 320 GB hard Drives in em if you get lucky.

Oh, on the backwards compatibility.

Companies these day's want to milk games, music, movies etc for all they are worth, and then some. Which is why M was pushing Digital Rights Management all the up til E3 2013 - until S threw a monkey wrench in the works. And now they are looking to do it
yet again.

However, I am sure that IF M, or even devs like EA could find a way to charge $10.00 or more for last gen games. Both M & S would allow BC on their next gen systems clear back to their original outing. As it is, there is no $ in it for them. So why bother
right?!?

The same thing happens on PC's. I have over 100 games for the PC which a few date back to the Windows 98 days. And barley 1/5 of them will work on Vista and I know not to even try them on 7, nor 8.1

Thus, If electronics can take "giant leaps forward" in processing/graphics power. Yet are
not allowed to run "old school games." Then they really aren't as useful as they could be.

 

I know what needs to be done. Just venting mostly. I had 3 360's. Two people from work wanted to buy one. They offered #125 for them. I brought all 3 in and told them to pick the one they wanted. Figures I get stuck with the one that dies.

 

I've come to a conclusion. Monday morning while I'm at work(I don't want to waste my free time on it.) I will go through abd see which ones I'll actually play for sure and ones that I might or might not. I'll trade those in. If I average $6 a game I'd
only need to trade 25 of them to get a refurbished one at $123.

 

your better off buying a new one on sale, if you buy used no matter where from there's a chance the console may be banned, then your out of luck and your money. if you got a slim get a 4gb model and just replace your HD.
