Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition Upgrade won't play, error 0x80040900

Hi, we purchased the Celebration Edition upgrade for Battlefront 2 last night and after it installed we hit a problem. The new features all seem to be there when the game is loaded, but when we try to play it a big grey bar fills most of the screen and
that's as far as we can get. At first the grey box is blank, then it displays the error code 0x80040900. This morning we have spent a few hours on the phone and following email instructions with EA games, who have been very nice, but unable to resolve the
problem. They have recommended contacting Xbox support, which we have been trying to do for the last 40mins, but this is harder to do than becoming an actual Jedi. So far we have deleted a lot of stuff, re-booted a lot of times, factory reset the machine once,
and possibly some more (we have just followed instructions). Please help!

Also, do you have an active Gold membership? Some features of that game may require a Gold membership to play online

Hi, thank you. Yes to trying the steps, no to the gold membership. I don't want to sign up for anything, does this mean we can't play the upgrade game?

Certain features could possibly require going online to play which would require a Gold subscription. The one silver lining here is that I believe there was a promotion going for Game Pass Ultimate where it was something like $1 per month for 3 months,
so honestly you may want to consider signing up. Plus you'd get access to the massive library of titles available via Game Pass.

Star Wars Battlefront 2. I've thought about buying the celebration edition, but would really like to try it out first.
