Let me rephrase USMC guy: NO AAVs remained in Baghdad for the duration of the war. Maybe during the initial push, the race against the Army to Baghdad, but their weakness was glaring and obvious, even from the story you posted. In the immediate days after
the official war against Iraqi regulars was declared over, any USMC AAV/LAV presence was a liability, not an asset, for the following 7 years of irregular warfare.

Money quote: "The 18 vehicles in the antiarmor platoon were made of fiberglass and offered the crews no protection whatsoever from small-arms fire or rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs)." Thats where 900 M2 Bradleys come into play.

I dont know why you continue to argue with me other than you are a USMC nut. The Army has more vehicles, better vehicles and a fighting force three times the size of the entire USMC. For DICE to go with the USMC really shows a lack of understanding regarding
the current conflicts as well as future conflicts.

I am not saying anything against the "fighting spirit" or the integrity of the USMC. I am simply stating that proportionately, its not possible for the USMC to project power and occupy a country like the US Army. It's not physically possible.

If you want to send an Marine Expeditionary Unit to Haiti or Lebannon, sure, they can handle that. But you dont count on the USMC to take on Iran all by their lonesome. As much as we all love the USMC, that is suicide. The USMC has been suffering from mission
creep ever since amphibious landings went by the wayside tactically. They have to use their toys somewhere so they attempt to show up the Army where they can, which is usually in a certain province in a certain country, not as the entire fighting force.
