Battlefield 4 @4k native on xbox series x

OK Ive played Battlefield games since bf2 on pc back in 2005 the series has always been my go to online game and I've had it in multiple incarnations on different systems all the way up to and including bfv.

OK that said I stumbled apon some well "old news" by Internet standards but I only realised what it meant when I started playing bf4 again.

Battlefield 4 still renders at a blurry 720p on all xbox consoles it would be absolutely amazing to be able to see this game in 4k like our pc friends can?

Battlefield bad company 2 is also another title that would be amazing in 4k.

Bf4 runs at 900p on playstation 4 upwards and is noticeably easier to play. A resolution bump on the xbox platform would be a win for consumers that bought the game would create more revenue for new adopters and for very little in the way of development. Lastly a sense of supremacy over other systems. "The Battlefield console!"

Now from what I believe there is no involvement needed from a developer only the Microsoft backwards compatibility team.

Please make this happen I've been hoping for a patch since I bought My xbox one x but it didn't happen I've now purchased the latest xbox xsx and still I'm hoping for a resolution bump.

if you increase the resolution of an image from 720 to true 4k then the image will be stretched beyond belief, this is why 4k games are so big due to the 4k assets.

where do you think they are going to get those xtra pixels worth of data from, upscaling will only go so far, for true 4k, high res assets are required.

i don't think the xbox versions have the high res assets included with them so this would be virtually impossible unless the devs rerelease it.

AS FAR SCAPE mentioned yiu need to wait for an update which is unlikely for older games for free anyways

Why would they need the high rez assets its just resolution not Battlefield 4 ultimate.

No other visual fidelity need change 4k textures are not needed for something to render in 4k.

The game may run at 720p on Xbox but that doesn't nessisarily mean the assets are low resolution.

Don't have any concrete figures, but by the looks if it the Xbox One version is very close to the PC in terms of the storage requirements for install. That means if the Xbox version is updated to 4K or near enough using dynamic scaling it should look about the same.

You don't need 4k assets to run a game in 4K.
