Battery level displaying Med on new Xbox rechargeable batteries

I purchased Insignia Side Dock Dual Battery Charger for Xbox Series X and my battery level is only displaying as Med rather than High or fully charged even though the batteries have been charging for over 24 hours. Is it possible my controller or the batteries may be faulty? Even if I put in a set of Energizer rechargeable batteries, it displays the same thing. However when I got the controller and the batteries that come with it and placed those in, the battery level read high/100%.

It is possible that it is a defect, but I advise you to observe the lifespan of the charging the joystick has a 90-day warranty.

Do you mean that the battery level shows as medium, even when you're using freshly charged/new batteries?

It depends which batteries you're using. With rechargeable AAs, sometimes it will show the battery level as medium even though the batteries are fully charged, in my experience, yet with non-rechargeables such as Duracell, the battery meter will show as full. It's possibly to do with some batteries being 1.2V instead of 1.5V, but I don't think it's anything to worry about unless your batteries are draining far quicker than normal.

sounds like the batteries are at the end of their lifespan. The rechargeable 360 batteries will eventually fail to keep a charge. Try using regular AA batteries,if the controller works fine then you may want to consider purchasing new rechargeable batteries.

NO YOU CAN NOT (at least not rechargeable Mignon AA batteries)

The Xbox can't know if you have rechargeable AA batteries in it or disposable batteries.

If the controller started to charge non-rechargeable batteries, they might catch fire or explode in your hand.

Microsoft can't let that happen, as people would sue Microsoft to bankruptcy if a controller accidentally charged a non-rechargeable AA battery and it exploded in their hands, getting corrosive battery fluid in the wound and all over their clothes.

Therefore, the Xbox controller will NOT charge the normal, rechargeable AA batteries, as the console can't determine if it is a real rechargeable battery or not.

If you look into the battery compartment, you will see some small golden contacts between the bigger battery contacts. Those are the contacts to charge Play & Charge battery packs.

ONLY THESE CONTACTS will be able to charge the rechargeable battery packs from the Play & Charge kit.
