    hey im asking about getting a recycled username: dustinstout

    apparently it has a bad record and can no longer be in use i was told that you guys might be working on releasing recycled usernames with bad records in the future but i would like to possible make it happen now haha you see this might not mean anything

    It's not a permenant ban but those that have received a retail console early and connected it to the net have had it banned.

    The gamertag you're looking for might not be in use but it could still be tied to another account. When you create a Microsoft Account and then go to Xbox.com or sign in on Xbox, the system creates a gamer tag for that profile. And you can change it once
    for free.

    So that gamer tag is still probably tied to an account. And if the account is in use elsewhere, then you're out of luck until that person stops using the account for 5+ years or changes the gamer tag on that account.

    The case number you provided doesn't do anything for anyone here. Xbox Support has to generate a case number for their notes as calls come in. No one here in the forums or Xbox Support has control or the ability to change anyone's gamer tag.

    No, once an account is banned, then it is banned. banned means banned. Sorry, but you shouldn't have broken the CoC/ToS.

    What happens if I've been banned?

    Most bans occur because of unacceptable behavior or content, such as lewd player emblems. On the first offense, a player receives a temporary ban from using that feature. Subsequent offenses can lead to further temporary bans or even a permanent ban.

    How long will this ban last?

    The length of bans vary on the type and number of offenses. This can be seen in the ban message that appears in game.

    The ban isn’t a message ban it’s an “account” ban, with no information to follow the ban. This is just the only cause that makes sense to me.

    An appeal would be for an account ban, not a console ban. Account bans and console bans are separate so it would be possible to have the account ban lifted if the enforcement team determined they made a mistake.
