Banned for replying to hate mail

I have been reported for replying to hate mail which leads me to believe that no one monitors reports it is done automatically. Paying customers should not have to put up with getting banned over telling a hater they’re just making excuses. This has happened
to me multiple times and is very unfair. If people actually monitored reports they would realise that I wasn’t the one that started it. If they had a look at my texts they’d realise that I was just defending myself. Something needs to be done about this because
I’m sure a lot of people go through the same problem

Unfair Communication ban

I got a communication ban for sending a text to a griefer saying I don’t like him! What about the griefer who griefs every game? This is unfair I haven’t sent any kind of hate mail to anyone else and I get banned for one text after he was replying with hate
mail! Ban him as well “II Odin” is his gamer tag

Hate mail is funny, but for the record OP you cannot "name and shame" other people's gamertags on the forums. It could result in you getting banned from them.

It doesn't matter how a situation starts. If you respond in a way that violates the code of conduct, you can be punished. In situations like that, it's best to just report the other person and block communications with them instead of responding.

Contrary to what people assume, the enforcement team do check before handing out a suspension. Don't reply to messages that give you grief, report, mute and block. Just because you pay for a service doesn't mean you can behave as you like. You signed up
for live and you have to abide by the rules.
enforcement.xbox.com has plenty of information and if eligible you can file a case review.

In regards to your comments, if you are seen to retaliate in any way, you are no different from the person causing problems in the first place. Next time, before you act, take a step back, walk away from the situation, and leave a report as you see fit.
This way, nothing can come back on you.

i get hate mails all the time playing FFa, im used to it and sometimes these hate mails are better than the game itself.......but anyway, wish i had a bot that auto replies "owned" then block communications automaticly,that would be sweet

on my server we instantly ban Non USA. They almost never send hate mail, because they know that we know what their up to.
