    Bad solder, not bad bumper switch on xbox 1 controller


    Prepared to replace right bumper switch when I noticed under the magnifying glass that there was very little solder around the points compared to the left switch. Upon a closer look, saw a crack around one point. Added solder to each point, viola, fixed.

    Now for my two other controllers with stick drift...

    Confounded With the Lack of Bumper Button on Wireless Speed Wheel

    I have a theory that the circuit board within the wheel has the solder points for the bumpers. I'm currently looking for a security torx that will allow me to open one up to verify. If it does, it's a simple task of soldering in 2 good momentary switches.
    Had they included the bumpers, this wheel would be perfect for many people.

    If the bumpers aren't working in the messages menu - are they working in other parts of the game? Maybe you have a bad controller?

    Yeah replacing the thumbstick sensors yourself is quite easy if you have a soldering iron, Doing that kept my 360 controller going for almost 7 years, It's also exactly the same to perform on an xbox one controller.

    never had an xbox one thumbstick go bad yet in 2 years but they are the exact same sensor as the 360 control pads

    Yes this is the worse controller ever. I am on my second controller and just today the left analog stick once again broke. Now if I shake my controller broken plastic jiggles inside. The bumpers are also horrid. Overall bad quality. The 360 ones had a crap
    d-pad but that was not as bad as this new one.
