    Bad Audio Quality In Xbox Game Bar


    When I try to record the last 30 seconds of a game the video audio quality isn't always the best and I hear a little static. I have turned up the audio quality to 192 kbps with no improvement. This doesn't usually happen. I'm using the latest version of Xbox Game Bar 5.823.3261.0 on Windows 11 Home.

    (One Side Question, Why does sometimes recording the last 30 seconds cause lots of lag and drop my FPS? I do have Mid-Tier Specs and should be able to handle it.)

    Sending feedback or reporting this issue to Xbox is a good idea.



    With regards to the lag spike, performing a clean boot may fix startup issues. While running clean boot, your PC is running in a minimal state. If your OS is installed on an SSD, lag should be minimal to almost none. Just make sure you disable all startup apps from the task manager.

    I have an M.2 SSD and I don't want to disable all startup apps because some are necessary like CyberPower PowerPanel for my UPS. Anyway, it happens not often and is not a big deal.

    Ok, I will send feedback on the Xbox Support Page.

    I don't have programs run in the background other than the game I'm playing. I get a big lag spike after recording the 30 seconds of a game but goes back to normal. This only happens if I do it the first time after restarting the computer. Is it trying to load the program to record or something?
