Backwards Compatible xbox 360 game code not activating on xbox.com or xbox one.

I participated in the Gears of War Ultimate Edition promo where you have to play prior to a certain cut off date which in turn makes you eligible to receive the previous games in the collection through the backwards compatible program (Gears of War 1, 2,
3, & Judgement). I received a message through xbox.com notifying me of the codes being ready for activation. The Gears of War 3 code keeps coming up with an error message and I am not able to redeem the game code; 3 out of 4 codes have been successfully activated
though. I have tried activating through the xbox one console and the xbox.com website using different web browsers. Please assist with this issue. Thanks

But it is under Xbox 360 games on My Games page on the xbox.com site. And the FAQ says that if the game is there it backward compatible with my console.

I just wanted to jump in here to see if I can potentially help clarify. The Xbox 360 store and Xbox One store are separate, there is no way to access the full Xbox 360 console store on Xbox One.

However, you can access a section of Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on the Xbox One store. You do this by going to the Store page and selecting " Browse games" once you're on the main Games page scroll down to the Backward Compatible section and select
"View all" it sounds to me like this is what you are searching for.

In that section you can purchase Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One. As Internet Expert and ngocphi stated, it's not possible to view the entire Xbox 360 catalog on the Xbox One console. To view everything for sale, you'd need to view the store on either
an Xbox 360 or Xbox.com.

It's also important to not that not all Backward Compatible Xbox 360 games are purchasable on the Xbox One console and need to be purchased on xbox.com or on an Xbox 360.

 

What error message/code do you see when you try redeeming the codes?

That code usually means it's a region issue. Your account region has to match your physical location, and you have to live in a region where the game is available, in order to use the code.

 

Germany Japan or China and non xbox live regions can't get the content

And yes your physical region has to match your actual region to get it

 

I'm in the Uk, using a PAL console, my account region has been changed to UK (EU) a while back.

I appreciate the assistance but I'm still confused as this was part of a game collection. I was able to redeem Gears 1, Gears 2, Gears Judgment using the same xbox one here in the same region where I unlocked the other codes from the same collection.

How is it that this is a region error when I have redeemed 3 out of 4 codes from the same collection?

 

Thanks guys. My region was under United Kingdom, so I switched it back to U.S.A., then back to United Kingdom. Tried redeeming the code just for a laugh & it worked! Not sure if there was a glitch in my account tying me back to my original location but
