Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One S (thinks the game is a blu ray disk)

I tried to play my xbox 360 version of Black Ops 2 but it came up with a prompt to download blu-ray player. I downloaded it but then nothing happens. I tried a couple of months later by inserting the disc in again but it still opens blu-ray player.

Xbox one isnt compatible with xbox 360 games because the xbox one has a blu-ray disk drive.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully get this copy of Black Ops 2 to run like a game should. I can definitely understand how this could be bewildering. I suggest trying a soft factory reset of your console. It's a factory
reset that doesn't uninstall any of your games/apps and is a good troubleshooting step for several issues. First make sure that your network is set up appropriately and easy to connect to (preferably with an open NAT type) and that you know all sign-in information
for any important gamertags on your console (as they will need to be redownloaded), then follow the steps outlined in How to reset your console
to factory defaults on Xbox One and select the option denoted reset and keep my games & apps.

When you get the chance, give that a shot and let us know how that helped.

My first guess wld be a damaged disc. Can you try it in another Xbox and see if the same thing happens?

It may be a faulty drive

It works fine on my 360
