Backwards Compatibility not working, can't download profile

I tried a BC game today for the first time - Assassin's Creed, purchased digitally. I launch it, and it shows "Getting your Xbox 360 info..." and does not ever fill the progress bar, it just eventually goes away. After I get through the game intro screen,
it asks me to download profile. I try this, and it fails on "Checking network status." If I test connection, it tells me I'm connected to the internet. I've already tried clearing my 360 cache (3 times) as well as manually setting my IP info, but nothing
has worked.

Any suggestions here?

Can't download my Xbox profile on backwards compatibility

I can't download my profile on Xbox One backwards compatibility. It keeps giving me the code error 80070571 which translate to that my profile is corrupted and it is not. My profile is perfectly fine both on my One and 360.

 

Dead Space achievements aren't showing up

After that, I try to play Alan Wake and I still can't connect to live to download my profile. Is the 360 Backward Compatibility broken?

Let's have you try to remove your profile and then re-add it to the console to see if that helps.

Done, and for good measure I also cleared 360 cache again before adding my profile back. Still getting the exact same behavior when I launch Assassin's Creed.

 

I also tried Witcher 2 just to see if it was a specific game thing, but same problem there, too.

 

So since official help has left this to die, I'll post an update of what finally worked for anyone looking. I had to hard wire my network connection, and then it downloaded when I launched the game just like it should have all along.
After that, I went back to wireless and I can play just fine. For MS to be adding so many games to the backwards compatibility library, it's astonishing that this wifi bug is still a thing.
