Backwards compatibility games. ‘The current profile is not allowed to play Xbox Live’

Hello,

My current Xbox One account will not let me play the old Xbox 360 games such as Call of duty Modern Warfare etc. I have tried a number of steps to solve this issue but it keeps bringing up the message ‘the current profile isn’t allowed to play Xbox live’. This only happens with the old Xbox 360 games. I can play Xbox One games fine with no issues.

Could anyone help me regarding this?

Seems like you have performed all the necessary steps. May I ask what subscription you have as active on your end?

"Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions."

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. "

If that didn't work try removing and re-adding your Xbox 360 profile:

"1. Load up an Xbox 360 backward-compatible game

2. Press the menu and view button on the controller at the same time to open the Xbox 360 guide

3. Press "X" to sign out of your account

You should see an option labeled "Download Profile" then press "A" to confirm

4. Enter your Microsoft Account credentials."

Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately however I have tried both of these steps and neither worked. I have cleared my cache, reset my Xbox back to factory settings, deleted my profile and re-downloaded and also cleared my MAC address. None of these seemed to work at all.

Any other suggestions are very welcome and thank you for the help!

Hi Again,

Sorry for the late reply, I have just checked and my Xbox live had ran out. I have renewed my subscription now and re downloaded my profile.

This has fixed my problem so many thanks!
