    Backwards Compatibility and Regions Question.


    The backwards compatibility support on Series X, is that only for NA region games or are JP versions of the games compatible as well?

    Basically if I obtain a JP copy of DOA Ultimate 1/2, can I pop that into my Series X and have it work? (As the OG Xbox was region locked, but the Series consoles aren't)

    SNK vs Capcom isn't backward compatible. There's a list of all the backward compatible games and the regions they're backward compatible in on Wikipedia for future reference.

    in future please keep backwards compatibility related questions to the preview forums! As for your question only North American (and some region free) discs are currently supported in the preview program.

    Hey Seamus -

    Availability for backward compatible games can, as you've encountered, vary by region. You can see if a game is available in your region by checking the list of

    backward compatible games     and making sure your region is selected. If it's not, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and look on the bottom left for the globe with the language/region selected and choose that to select the appropriate region.

    Hopefully that helps clarify a bit. :)
