Backwards compat not letting me connect to live

This has been an issue for some time, and I'm hoping someone has a fix. My 360 account was linked to my Xbox one and used to work fine. Then, several months ago, it stopped connecting. I didn't care because I only played games like Skate 3 that were more
fun playing solo. However, once games like MW2 and MW3 started coming out, I tried to get back online. When I tried to connect it just said that it couldn't connect and to test the connection. Well the One connection is just fine; everything works as it should.
So I tried to delete all the local 360 content in the One settings and now I can't even re-link my account! It keeps coming up with the same error that it can't connect and to test my connection.

This is really annoying, and I am pretty ashamed that Microsoft has not come up with, or at least posted, a fix for this. Does anyone have a solution?

I am connected via a wired connection, and I have tried resetting everything numerous times. I also have all of the ports open that are needed for xbox one and 360, and my NAT is open.

Anyone able to send a preview program invitation for Xbox One?

As title says. I'd like to try ME on the backwards-compat.

 

This normally happens when you change your gamertag for any reason.

You would want to try and redownload your profile on the 360 emulator on the One follow these directions.

1. Load up any 360 game on the one.

2. hit the start and select buttons (small little round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller) this will bring up the 360 guide there should be a choice to download profile there click on that

3. enter in email and password.

4. it should download your profile and work

You may have to sign out by hitting the Y button I believe first if you click on download profile and gives you the same error

 

It still won’t work. I’ve done everything you said before and just now. It just says “can’t connect to Xbox live. Select test connection to troubleshoot your connection.” When I test it, it just goes to the One test screen and says everything is fine.

 

same problem here. no one seems to know whats wrong.

 

Glad I’m not the only one. I don’t know how Microsoft hasn’t done something especially since they are investing so much in the BC program. I just can’t log in at all now because it keeps giving me the same error. I really wish someone at MS who knows what
they’re doing would read this.

 

For anyone having this problem, I finally fixed my variation of the problem. I tried the connection on wireless instead of wired and it worked fine. As soon as I plugged up the ethernet cable again, it stopped working.

I went into network settings and to the MAC address. From there you can reset the MAC address. The Xbox restarted and everything worked great! Give it a shot. I don’t know why I didn’t try it sooner. Hopefully this will help anyone else having this problem.

 

This has worked for wireless but How did you reset your mac settings ?

 

Settings > network > network settings > advanced settings > alternate mac address > clear. This is when it is hooked up with a wired connection. Make sure you have the ports necessary open (most routers have an xbox option in port forwarding) as well.
Your xbox will reset and hopefully it’ll work for you too.
