Backwards Compabilty can't connect to Xbox live

I held in the start and select button in and the old menu came up but there was no profile there to sign in with this is so weird plz help lol

Hey all, happy to jump in on this.

Let's go ahead and try these steps to clear the local Xbox 360 storage on the console and see if that helps.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Note Double-tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.

Select Settings.

Select All settings.

Select System and then select Storage.

Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.

Select Yes and restart the console. This will not affect your cloud saved games or Xbox One games and profiles.

Open the game again and see if it works, let us know!

I do not believe it a local problem. I have tried your solution and it looks like errors in all Xbox 360 games occur with the login of Xbox live profile. The simulator simply fails to connect right now.

I did that then it deleted my account and I tried to download it but it said couldn't connect to Xbox live

Terrible solution mister mascot. it did delete my saved game, I lost hours. I can sign into Xbox live now but that was a misleading solution.

Hey there Djshep, did you follow the instructions exactly? This only clears the local storage and not cloud saves. Your save data for Xbox 360 games is stored on the cloud. Is it possible you're not signed into the same profile with the save games? You might
try to turn on the Xbox 360 and upload your saves to the cloud again.

I've tried everything,especially clearing xbox 360 storage and still get that stupid message.Why can't I go online?I better not see another person comment clearing the 360 storage on xbox one.

So I was stuck in the same boat as you all and I looked through this thread and saw Wrong Reverend giving us a possible solution. I tried what he suggested and it worked! So I'm gonna expand on what he said a bit to hopefully help out the rest of you. At
the main menu of whatever game you're playing, press the "start" and "select" buttons simultaneously. You should get the old 360 menu popped up. Then go to the download profile option and enter in your info for your account. After that you SHOULD be able to
play! To anyone who isn't able to do these steps I'm sorry in advance. This worked for me so I hope it worked for others.
