So I tried signing in and it says can't connect to Xbox live the I tried fixing it and the account on the backwards Compabilty game is gone I tried downloading It again then it said can't connect to Xbox live please help me

Did you get any error codes/messages when this issue occurs? if you do, please be sure to include those!

For now, let's give these steps a try and be sure to let us know how it goes:

1. Select All settings from the Xbox One guide.
2. Next, scroll down to 'System' and select 'Storage'.
3. Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage. Note: This will not affect your saves stored in the cloud.
   

 

Yes, I am having this issue too...I can play the games but cannot download my profile due to the emulator not connecting to xbox live...

 

i have tried clearing all xbox 360 data, resetting (not restarting, RESETTING) the xbox one, changing my xbox live password, everything i could find, but it still tells me i need to download my profile but then says cannot connect. HELP!!

 

Firstly, have you tried hard resetting your console by holding the power button on your Xbox one console until it turns off?

If you have, and if you are a preview member, make sure to go into your settings > system settings > console info and updates, and see if there is an update available. There was a problem with the last update that prevented backwards compatible games working.

 

Same issue here. Every time I load a Xbox 360 download game on my Xbox one it disconnects me from live..... Anybody have a solution?

 

When you get to the game menu try holding down simultaneously the old select and start button. That should bring you to the old menu and re download your profile. It will then que up an update to your profile. It just finally worked!!!

 

No I have my account but I can't sign in

 

Having same problem with Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and if you dont have an account you cant save any data. It wont sign into my account at all, I even played it when I was on xbox 360.

Thank god it was free.

So I was stuck in the same boat as you all and I looked through this thread and saw Wrong Reverend giving us a possible solution. I tried what he suggested and it worked! So I'm gonna expand on what he said a bit to hopefully help out the rest of you. At
the main menu of whatever game you're playing, press the "start" and "select" buttons simultaneously. You should get the old 360 menu popped up. Then go to the download profile option and enter in your info for your account. After that you SHOULD be able to
play! To anyone who isn't able to do these steps I'm sorry in advance. This worked for me so I hope it worked for others.

 

I said I have my account but it won't connect to Xbox live!

 

Also it comes up without consoles can't connect to Xbox live
