    Backward compatible games won't connect to xbox live


    Hello, I recently reinstalled Gears of War 2 on my xbox series s but I'm unable to play it. When I get to the main menu in Gears 2 a window prompts me to download my profile, but when I click on it it doesn't even ask for my information and then it tells me it's unable to connect to Xbox Live. I tried a few methods that worked for other people and none of them worked, however I did find a post on here just now that seems like it might work, and it involves going into the xbox 360 guide > manage storage > profiles and deleting only my 360 profile but my profile doesn't even show up in that menu at all. Without xbox live I can't even save my game so it's pretty much unplayable and I'm a little angry about that.

    I bought a 360 game only to find out I can't play it on my Xbox ONE. The at the store lied to me.

    Not all games are backwards compatible. If the game is not listed here it won't work. Backwards compatible games are being added all the time, but backwards
    compatibility is up to the publisher. So not all games will be made compatible.

    If it's not backwards compatible (and this game isn't) then no, it won't work. You can view the backwards compatibility list
    here. If a game is not on that list, you can't play it on an Xbox One.

    That game is not backwards compatible so it won't work on the 360. I'm not sure about the connection issues though.

    No backwards compatibility = Don't care

    Mandatory game installs = Do it

    Blocked used games = Don't care. Prefer new.

    Internet connection required = I pull my hair out if my xbox won't connect to live.

    I guess I'm all set. Ready to pre-order.
