    Hi,

    Quick question: I have $9 account balance and I want to continue my Xbox Game Pass PC monthly subscription ($10). If I use PayPal as my backup payment method, will I be charged with the account balance +$1 on PayPal OR fully charged $10 on PayPal?

    After you start the subscription, turn off auto-renewal and you won't be charged again. Otherwise, it will automatically charge you for the next payment.

    If there is no backup payment method there will be no option for auto-renewal, Laurens.

    For me, I am required to have a backup payment method even with redeeming a subscription code. There are no official announcements regarding changes, but a backup payment method is required for the auto-renewal to be turned on.

    If you're looking forward to redeeming a code again, you can definitely do so, it will just stack up.

    Hi, Михаил. Please note that in order to purchase any subscription available in the Microsoft Store, you need to use a backup payment method. This means that even if you redeem a gift card, and while the subscription will be paid with the gift card, the system will still ask you to link a backup payment method.

    Additionally, be aware that this requirement can't be bypassed. Therefore, if you're interested in purchasing a subscription but don't want to link a backup payment method, it's not possible to proceed with the purchase.

    However, just a heads-up, once you link a payment method and get the subscription, you can disable recurring billing, and then you will be able to remove the recently linked payment method.
