    Backing up XBox games and restoring them WITHOUT re-downloading...


    I have downloaded Forza, Gears of War 1 & 4, for the PC and wanted to know if it's possible to back up the games and restore them WITHOUT having to re-download them (like the function Steam has).

    I only ask about not having to re-download them because all up, it's over 140Gb and I live in Australia, where our internet is so **** poor, it would take me almost an entire week straight to re-download.

    Please tell me this is possible??? Steam can't be the only client with a backup/restore function on it?

    Corrupt profile, now corrupted console data

    Will i not just be backing up corrupt data? And then same with my profile, be restoring a corrupt profile?

    Lost my save data!

    I'm not sure this will fix your problem but it did for my friend and me, try restoring your Xbox and then re downloading your profile

    Get an external USB 3 HDD above 256Gb, and you can copy them to the external drive and then remove the drive for storage.

    Yup same thing, once service is restored that should go away and all your games and DLC will return without having to re-download—at least if the results are the same as last time this happened. I’m currently restarting my Xbox every 30 minutes and trying to connect. Will reply with results if I get it up

    By restoring the xbox one to factory settings, does this delete all games not installed by disc? so games downloaded via code, how are these still retained on the console without permanantly losing them? Does this affect DLC content for games, is a new account
    set up required?

    Xbox one won't turn off

    system, factory restore. Its a pain, you'll have to put back in your tag details, settings etc... but saved games or purchased will re download from the cloud.

    If you have your xbox backuped then you csn restore any lost games and downloads without the need of downloading the games again. Go to backup and restore in the menus. If you haven't got it backuped you can always download the game you have previously
    paid for again.
