    Background noise at Xbox party, but not Skype on Xbox


    When I talk to my friends via Xbox party, everyone always hears a noise in the background as soon as someone speaks. This noise does not exist when we use the Skype app on the console. How can I fix the problem? Does the Xbox party have low audio quality?

    (We're four people and play on Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC).

    Skype likely has built in noise cancellation features which Xbox Parties do not due tomthr processing overhead

    have you tried using skype? Xbox's connection in general is sketchy for me and my friends, we cant even access party chat. so we use skype and have it run in the background (its the only app that properly runs in the background too).

    I'm not a big fan of the new Xbox ONE party system so my friends and I have swapped to Skype on the Xbox ONE. We set up group calls with Skype (yes it runs in the background without being snapped).

    Hope this helps some of you who are having issues with the party on different games.

    In addition to what Mrs Assassin13 suggested, if you try a Skype Echo test , do you still experience the static noise with
    your headset?

    Are you experiencing constant static noise when others are speaking to you in an Xbox party? If so, our party audio steps may be able to help out
    as well.

    Yeah the few times I've used the new party system I haven't really understood what they did to it. I'll give that a try then.
