Aweful Customer service experience

Discus and support Aweful Customer service experience in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; hello all, So i just got my new xbox today in the mail and set it up.     hello all,

    So i just got my new xbox today in the mail and set it up. It asked for a microsoft account and the only one i had was from my childhood which was also linked to the 360 i believe?

    Anyways, come to find out it ported all that information over including my gamertag from childhood.

    Since none of this was explained or made clear when signing up i am stuck with xbox gold and game pass on this account.

    Tryed to get help from customer supoort but the manager (Ellen) was beyond unhelpful and would not budge from trying to charge me $10 to change my name.

    I explained the situation and she continued to quote microsoft policy with absolutely no help at all and then ended the chat on me.

    I haven't owned a system or played games in close to a decade i'd think and this was such an aweful first experience with microsoft i am beyond disappointed.

    Is there anything i can so to salvage the xbox gold and game pass i put on the account? First day of owning an xbox has been nothing but stress and anger.

    Can anyone offer a solution to microsofts **** service and treatment?

    Genesis, appreciate the suggestion. I did try and still no luck. Apparently my claims are baseless w/o a receipt. While I understand their approach from a business standpoint, I have to say it really sucks for me (and apparently other people as well)
    as a consumer. The best MS support gave me was, "buy another controller". Not a lot of incentive for me to waste another $60 on a controller that will probably break too soon, only to be told to buy another one...again. I know there's nothing you can do
    about it, but man, it is frustrating.

    Bad customer service experience

    Wrong when a customer service agent has one job the agent failed. The agents job is to respond to all questions in a healpful manner and when a person states a fact and the other person the customer service agent says the opposite saying he is stating a
    fact the agent is calling the customer a liar. A good customer service agent will show empty when dealing with a customer. A professional customer service agent will try to defuse the situation unfortunately this agent did not even attempt to at all. When
    the agent continued after I said bye with anything other than an apology then saying what he said is wrong. I the customer did not ask for anything free the customer service agent said it when he summed the call up. By the agent failing at a basic customer
    service level he cost the companie a customer that is posting everywhere about this junk controller and how customer service deals with customers. i want to make sure that you know this for the future before responding the grips are sold as a feature to help
    with performance on the elite controller

    Hi there,

    I'm a bit confused on that the issue is, so I'll do my best to answer your questions.

    Did you not want to use the account you already had? Or were you trying to start a new account?

    If you want to start a new account, you will need to use a different email/Microsoft account.

    If you want to use the account from your 360, but don't want Live or Game Pass on it, you can cancel the subscriptions on the account at anytime by going to
    account.microsoft.com and selecting

    Payment & Billing, find the subscription and cancel the one you want to cancel.

    If you want to change the name on the account
    from the 360, that is, and has been a paid option for many years. The only free change any user gets is when they first create the account and decide not to use the gamertag the system gives them. More information on that can be found

    you can't change your name for free that's only for new accounts with randomized names

    Since you have a custom name you don't qualify

    Not sure where you are getting this fake info.but support is correct

    If it's a 1month membership then no it can't be transferred

    Gamepass is account specific however you can trial it on a new profile if you insist on having a new name but you lose everything in the other account

    I'm sorry this happened. It's always best to call the store ahead of time to be sure they can assist with your problem before heading there. You can still set up a repair online and ship the console out. It's not the fastest method
    but if the console is under warranty you don't have to pay for it.

    I had a service appointment. When I started the warranty repair I was given the option to get it fixed today at a Microsoft store, so I made an appointment and went.
