"Avoid me" Reputation Status - Help/Advice?

Hey! I invade a lot in Dark Souls 2, and it seems people have not taken a liking to me forcefully entering their games to slaughter them - within the last month of playing Dark Souls 2, I've received a bunch of "Unsporting" reports, likely because they
see the game mechanic as cheap or unfair.

    Now, after some searching I saw that to increase my reputation, I need to NOT get any further reports - not exactly specific information. I've just got a few questions;

    (1) How am I to play in online matches and "not get reports" if I cannot join them?

    (2) Can I play single-players games, while online, and wait for it to increase?

    (3) How long would it take approximately to increase my reputation back to acceptable standards while playing online?

    Thanks for any help!

    :)

  2. "Avoid me" reputation

Well then have you though that just maybe you deserve everything you get. Seems to be your scrounging for sympathy. You don't seem remorseful. Just annoyed that your being punished.

I tend to agree with this.

You **** off a lot of people. You did so knowing it was unsportsmanlike. Now that the punishment has befallen, you're finding out what it was like for those who had to play with
you. As several have already posted, it's going to be awhile before that rep goes back up. Also, as has been said, you don't need to get good rep. You only need to avoid getting bad rep. You're just going to have to tough it out being forced to play with people
    who play like you did.

An old saying comes to mind... don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

  3. "Avoid me" reputation

Guys, you're saying that my conduct needs to improve in game for my rep to go back up, right? Well, how can I demonstrate my changed behavior if I can't find ANYONE to play with?!? Once your rep is on avoid me you can't find anyone to play fairly with...

You can play online with others of the same rep level as you, or by invite from anyone.

Playing with friends will also allow your rep to rise again.

Yes, you can play single player and your rep will increase over time, if you do not get any bad reports.

It doesn`t matter that you are online or not while playing those single player games, you just need to go a length of time with no bad reports.

It could take weeks, even months to get your rep back to a "good player" standard.

Hardly seems worth forcing into peoples games and ruining their fun, does it?

Well, I hardly think I should be penalized for an in-game mechanic the developers intended for players. But that's just my two cents.

  6. "people have not taken a liking to me forcefully entering their games to slaughter them "

That doesn`t sound like an in game mechanic to me.

There is an in-game item called a "Cracked Red Eye Orb" that allows you to forcefully enter another player's world while they are playing. Invasions are one of the cornerstones of Dark Souls, even when you play offline there are scripted NPC invasions.

So, yes, it is an in-game mechanic. People don't like it, but it's what the developers intended and I don't think I should be penalized for playing a game the way it is meant to be played.

It is an in game mechanic with the souls games, it's part of the fun. The reputation status needs to be removed full time. It's ok for people to avoid you if they want to, it's just misleading to be reminded by "Reputation status". Here is a similar thread

  9. To be honest, I actually could see this concern way before Dark Souls came to the Xbox One as you should see one of my friends avoid percentage. All he does is PvP on dark souls, like literally all his game time is that.

Also I've been owned so much by invaders and some I do think they don't fight with honour (once this guy invaded me and we cleared the area together before battling it out, now that's fighting with honour! For the record, I lost that one too.) though it
would never make me feel the urge to stop my game and rate them badly.

There actually is the following link and process you can go through if you feel like your reputation is unwarranted, see here:

  10. Lol, I have 100 Blocked people on PSN and it's only because the limit is 100. It doesn't give them bad rep though, they'll never see their "Status", I think it's bogus. The 100 people I've blocked are Split Screeners, cheaters or laggy connection people
    on COD.

  11. Apologies thorn, i didn`t understand that was part of the game.

I do think they will remove this "avoid me" feature in the near future, as i honestly don`t believe it is being monitored the way they make out it is.

Wow that sucks. Sounds like the devs need to make more people aware of that feature so less people feel burned by it and less likely to see reporting as a legit response. lol

A more prudent thing to do, if it doesn't exist already, is to create an in-game item with the power to mitigate or block the Red Eye Griefing Tool that allows for blowhards to make a fun time out of messing up other gamers' days.

I can just imagine some dude getting off work, getting his home stuff sorted, and sitting down to enjoy his maybe one hour of game time, and having his progress wrecked by some squeaker invading his game. His expression is either the "Forever Alone" face,
the "No." face... or just the classic Rage Face. Heh.
