    Available Now: Xbox Party Chat and game chat for iPhone and iPad on Xbox Cloud Gaming


    This week we will be rolling out the ability to chat with friends on Xbox.com/play using Xbox Party Chat or game chat on iPhones and iPads.

    To give it a try, you'll need to get setup first:

    1. On your supported iPhone or iPad, open Safari and go to Xbox.com/play.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    3. Pin the website to your Home screen using the Share button.

    For more information on getting started, visit How to use cloud gaming.

    If you're already setup and ready to go, jump into a game to start chatting:

    1. Launch Xbox Cloud Gaming from your Home Screen
    2. Find a game to play, then launch it with the Play button
    3. Once you're in a game, unmute the microphone via the three dots ('...') in the top-left and press the "MUTED" button to unmute
      1. Note: Your iPhone or iPad Safari Microphone Settings must be set to Ask or Allow
    4. For information on how to start a party chat, check "How to start a party" here: How to use cloud gaming.

    Note: Please be patient as this feature is being rolled out. If you don't see the option yet, check back soon.

    Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to take part in the experience of the Xbox app

    These are some issues/features that would go great along with party chat on iPhone
    1. A way to switch between audio chat from iPhone and Xbox mic

    I started a party chat on the Xbox app but then wanted to use switch to my headset on my Xbox, I had to leave the party chat and join again on the xbox

    2. Possibly game audio on iPhone from the Xbox app

    The Reason imm sending feedback here is because its not working with the testflight app on ios

    It says on the website it is compatible with Xbox with a headset adapter.

    Compatible with PS4, iPad, iPhone, laptops & PC. Also compatible with Xbox One using the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter found at www.xbox.com.

    Can you explain what wiring is needed to use game chat/ party chat with this headset. Ive contacted the manufacturer and they said to contact you.

    cloud gaming fortnite mic problem

    He’s saying he is trying to “game” chat through fortnite and not “party” chat through Xbox, probably because his friends use a different console than Xbox. I have the same issue. Only on fortnite can I not use game chat with cloud gaming. It’s beta. The perfect excuse to not work. Lol

    Hey Montserrat!

    The ability to party chat is not something that is available for cross platform play. You should be able to chat using in game chat while cross platform play at least for now.
