Xbox insiders are testing an update planned for october right now, so yeah there will be new updates but if they drastically change anything or bring new features remains to be seen.

It only deletes any temporary files and game updates. When you boot up a game, you will be prompted to download the latest update for it if the game has a new update or patch.

Achievements and gamerscore are not affected by it.
