AV receiver volume up/down and mute not working

My JVC RX5032v AVR will turn on and off with the xbox one but using the xbox volume up/down or mute the AVR doesn't work. I have a feeling the ir code that xbox one has is not the right one. Any thought or suggestions?

Can not control volume on both TV and AV Receiver at the same time

My Xbox was originally setup to operate just the TV. The volume up/down/mute commands worked. Then I added (from device settings) my AV receiver, the volume up/down/mute commands worked on it however the commands stopped working on my TV.

I reran setup for both TV and AV Receiver. During the setup the test commands worked on both devices. But my issue was not resolved.

I then removed (from device settings) the AV receiver and the TV volume commands started working.

Thus it appears my Xbox is unable to control the volume on both devices at the same time. I am able to repeat the steps above and get the same result.

AV Receiver issue with volume control

Hi,

Having an AV receiver issue. I am unable to mute, or turn up/down the volume of my AV receiver with the X1. When I originally started setting it up, I tried setting up the AV Receiver first, and the Mute function worked, then after setting up the TV, it
no longer worked.

I am using an Harman/Kardan AVR3600

Any help would be appreciated.

Try telling the Xbox you have a different but similar model AVR (perhaps the previous model year). The same IR codeset is usually used for multiple models.

I seem to have a similar issue (can mute / un-mute, but not turn volume up / down).

I bought my Xbox One a few days ago and am using IR Blasters to my AV unit (Pioneer VSX-S300).

During set-up, the volume turns up OK, but not when the set-up wizard has completed.

What I can see (as the IR blasters flash red when in use) is that during set-up, the volume up and mute commands flash 3 times for each button press (and works). Outside of the set-up Wizard, the mute/un-mute flashes 3 times, but the volume up / down flashes
just once for each key press.

It seems there is a difference between what is being sent for volume up / down when in the set-up Wizard and when trying to use the controls.

I can't see any options in the UI to change this, but I may have missed something...

any thoughts out there?

Do any of you also have issues with the IR blaster? My Kinect after the update wont control volume or power for my AV Receiver. Mute works, and in the setup menu it is able to control volume there but not outside the setup area. Its really really annoying!!

Your post makes perfect sense, I am hoping to do something similar. As far as I am aware the xbox can do the following:

Television: on/off, volume up/down and mute

AV receiver: on/off, volume up/down and mute

I can't confirm any of this though as I haven't got my hands on it yet, but from googling it would appear the setup you (we) have in mind is possible.

I still haven't found confirmation that the xbox can do audio passthrough of surround sound. That piece of info will determine on what way I chain/connect my devices.
