I creayed my first xbox live profile with my personal email. I was you and stupid when I got my first xbox so then swapped it to a separate email to stop junk emails going into my personal account. Some time ago I tried to log into my xbox with my personal
email rather than the one I had created specifically for xbox live. This automatically created a new xbox live account. I want to be able to remove this from my account and instead link my actual xbox live account with the many thousands of gamerscore. I've
tried things like creating a new email and doing a 3-way-shuffle and can't seem to get it to work.

Hi there,

when you visit www.xbox.com with an unassociated Microsoft Account, a gamertag (xbox live account) will be generated because it is needed for the xbox.com website, you can adjust the avatar, view your gaming history and achievements etc on this site. So
it basically needs the profile to exist.

You can't delete the xbox profile that is now present on the Microsoft account, you will need to move that account to a different Microsoft account.

So download the profile on a console, wait 30 days, and move the profile to a different Microsoft Account.

So do the same thing again, that you did before, just don't visit xbox.com, use that microsoft on a windows phone or windows 8 pc, because that will generate a profile when non is present.

If I understood you wanna yse the Email from the new Xbox account on the old one. If yes you need to change the Email for the new one first to disconnect Email and Xbox account. Then you need to change the Email alias for your old Xbox account on account.xbox.com.
There you need to first add ne Email and then set it as primary alias for the account.

Yeh, that's what I thought, but to do that I have to remove my personal email from the auto-created account, and to do that it says that the Microsoft account will be deleted and this is the email I use for everything

[/quote]The free name change also counts for gamertags created on the console. This I know because I recently got a friend to at last connect his 360 to Live and went through the procedure with him.

Also the 'free' name change only came in December time last year when the account creation process changed. Essentially they simply moved you picking your own tag from the start to the end of the process.

Since the OP created his account before that time, he would not have been eligible for a 'free' name change even if he had wanted to do it within 30 days of creating the account.

I am new here, and was given a random gamertag, so that I may activate my account that I hadn't used since Feb. 2008. I didn't know I had a MS account, and don't recall why I got one in the first place. Anyway, the default gamertag given to me was silly,
so I changed it to my YT name after reading on this site that you can change it ONCE, for FREE. After that, they will charge you 800 points. They should reimburse me the 800 points. I don't expect to have to change my new gamertag. Besides, don't they want
me to purchase more games? How long does the process take?
