Audio Settings Question

I have a RIG 800 LX headset I used on my One X and now use on my Series X. This may have occurred on the One X but I didn't notice it. I use the USB dongle to wirelessly play the audio to my headset and use the Dolby Atmos feature. However, when the dongle
is plugged in, the Series X only sends stereo sound to my audio receiver and the receiver settings are grayed out in the Series X settings. If I unplug the dongle, then it outputs surround sound. Is there a way to have it output surround sound to the receiver
without unplugging the dongle for the times I don't use the headphones? Thanks!

:)

Audio Selection

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

HDMI should be the default setting for audio if using HDMI directly from the Xbox to the display. What is your audio setup?

Either way audio settings can be found by going to Settings>Display & sound>Audio output, then there are columns for Speaker audio and Headset audio.

Let us know what setup you use and if you have any more questions on how to get to the audio settings on Xbox One.

Blu-Ray App and Bitstreaming

I have the same question. I use my Xbox One to watch Blu-rays, but I want the best audio experience on my VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers. Which optical audio settings are Xbox One audio settings are best to
watch a Blu ray like Inception?

Xbox One X Speaker Audio Settings Issue

I think i answered my own question... 🤦ļæ½ā€ā™‚ļø I restarted the console and went into the audio settings, selected Bitstream for Speaker Audio, then selected the Bitstream format (Dolby Digital). This made the setting stay after exiting the menu and then
returning.
