Audio passthrough on xbox one s controller windows 10

Hi guys

I am trying to get audio through my Xbox one s controllers audio jack, this is connected over USB to a windows 10 laptop.

Unfortunately this is not coming up as an audio device.

The controller works fine in all other areas and I can use for games etc.

I am looking to be able to plug my headset in to get the same headset experience as I would on my xbox.

hope this makes sense,

so far I have reinstalled my soundcard drivers, uninstalled the native "fast charge" utility from asus and tried updating my controllers firmware to no avail.

I am running the latest version of windows 10 and no updates are available.

Does the headset work when the controller is connected to the Xbox?

In the Xbox Accessories app (on the PC), does your headset show up?

What type of headset are you trying to use? Is it a chat headset for Xbox, a phone headset...?
