Audio just fully cut out. Started as intermittent cutting out.

I am seeing a lot of people having this same issue with a variety of tv providers. I myself have this issue with Charter. Glad to know that I am not the only one.

Yes, exact same thing happens to me. During TV, movies, Netflix, DVDs whatever. Sound is lost for 1-2 seconds. Happens repeatedly, 45-90 minutes apart - haven't kept a log to see any pattern.

Does it happen immediately? How long have you had the XB1? Have you ever hard rebooted your console since you got it?

I have replaced my Kinect and my Day One Edition Controller with no problems. If you ask for the advanced replacement program they will put a hold of 399$ and will ship you out another Xbox one and you only send yours out when you receive the new one with
the return shipping label, and using the same box to send the broken one back to Microsoft.

Make sure your HDTV Firmware is up to date, if your tv doesn't have an Ethernet port or wireless network card then you might be able to update via usb, check your tv's manufacture website and model number of your tv, to see if there is a firmware update.

I wouldn't be worried about replacements now, the horror stories are from launch when there were some logistic problems and confusion at the Xbox phone support center.

thread, try this first incase it works for you.

"Hi had this problem and fixed it, go to your surround sound settings on your surround sound system and change the surround sound settings to manual, the cutting out is the xbox one triggering different sound effects from your audio system, such as changing
from cinema to home etc... hope this helps anyone else, reset console after you have made the changes to your surround sound."

Ok, there is a chance the HDMI out port on the xbox is damaged or faulty if its the only device with this sound issue or it could be something else causing a problem. From looking at that other thread, no one seems to have a solution and it appears they
are sending their consoles back for repair. In this case I would suggest you
request a repair.
