Audio Issue. PS5 headphones are so quiet on my gaming laptop but not on my HP??

I've tried everything, my headphones are sooo quiet on my laptop despite the volume settings being on 100%.

The problem started after I used my earphones plugging them into the headphone jack and I noticed it was quiet, when my regular headphones had charged I used them again and they were quiet also after previously being fine. The settings as far as I know are as before and there doesn't seem to be any obvious software issue. The drivers are all up to date, I've tried looking in the settings of Asus' armoury crate and the equalizes are all at max on dolby access. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and I've troubleshooted in the sound settings and played with all the settings there. The volume is of course on max on the laptop and on the headphones. I have a HP laptop and the headphones are loud and working on that. The sound is about what I would expect it to be at 15% when there on 100%

You can also launch the troubleshooter from audio Settings: Select Start > Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot common sound problems and select Output devices

Thanks for helping to try solving it and I did try out those two things but the thing is when I plug my headphones in nothing happens like when my headphone speakers are working the laptop recognizes it as its own speaker that is already on the laptop and the microphone is the laptop microphone and I can't set anything to headset device if it isn't there but my laptop which is the HP EliteBook 8470p Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) can support both microphone and sound at the same time

Hi. I launched Halo 2 today for the first time after purchasing the collection and that’s when it happened. Halo Reach and CE don’t have this issue. When I use only the speaker of my laptop or regular headphones (pin inserted in the jack), audio in the cutscenes is fine but doesn’t work in the missions. If I use Bluetooth headphones, audio works perfectly in the missions but not in the cutscenes.

From my own experience with modern laptops, if the system has a firmware (UEFI/BIOS) update available then it should be easily downloadable via HP's own update software. I don't own an HP laptop, but that's how my Dell XPS does its firmware updates. Have you checked this on your HP laptop?
