    Audio issue from Set Top Box


    Hey there,

    I realise theres a few topics on this already, but none cover the issue I’m having.

    I’m suffering audio, uh, lag? Thing is the image is actually faster than the audio. So its not like I can use the Audio Delay settings on my set top box to fix it.

    The setup is:

    Sky Q mini box to Xbox One to 5.1 home theatre via Optical.

    Anyone else experienced this? Anyone been able to fix audio lag where its the image thats faster than the audio?

    Its so annoying because its only slightly out of whack but its super noticeable!

    Thanks for the reply. I would but im already using Sandstrom Gold Series HDMI cables between the console and TV and the set top and console. The optical is an AudioQuest Vodka Digital Optical Cable.

    I had this exact same problem and struggled with it for a while with my Comcast RNG110 set top box - no audio when going through TV, but all other audio from the XBox One worked. Tried changing a bunch of settings in my set top box and nothing worked. I
    figured it was an HDMI cable issue but I didn't have another HDMI cable so I simply switched the cables (the HDMI cable that ran between the set-top box and the XBox now runs between the XBox and the TV and the one from the XBox to the TV now runs between
    the XBox and the set-top box). Everything works perfectly now!

    Your set-top box may need to be reset to clear out incorrect configuration data. Disconnect any cables—including power—from the device for 30 seconds or more, and then plug them back in.

    If you use an over-the-air (OTA) set-top box, check to ensure your HD antenna is connected and working properly. The Xbox One can only display what the set-top box sends it, so poor audio reception from
    the antenna will come through on your console.

    Some set-top boxes have other settings that may impact audio output. How to check them varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but in general you want to be sure your box is outputting digital audio,
    is set to the correct surround-sound option for your equipment, and is not in any other way restricted.

    Contact your hardware provider for assistance in configuring your set-top box.
