Audio Intermittently cuts out for TV

When watching TV, the audio cuts out about once a day, resolving when the xbox reboots. Quite annoying...

Audio Cuts Out For 1 Sec Intermittently

I've seen a few threads for this issue, the threads have all been locked with no working resolution provided.

Audio during Video apps, TV, or Games cuts out for 1 second and then resumes. Happens sporadically, sometimes every 15 minutes sometimes several times in a minute. I am connected directly and securely to my TV via the Xbox One Stock HDMI cable, have tried
other cables, different ports on TV, soft and hard resets of the Xbox and nothing has worked.

Has anyone figured out a solution or have seen Microsoft acknowledge this problem? Thanks in advance.

Headset issue

Need help if possible. I have 3 headsets, 2 wired and 1 wireless (wireless is brand new). All 3 have The audio cut out when connected where it makes it so I cannot be heard or hear anyone intermittently. My connection is not the problem (45mb down, 3mb
up). Any ideas?

I am seeing a lot of people having this same issue with a variety of tv providers. I myself have this issue with Charter. Glad to know that I am not the only one.

Yes, exact same thing happens to me. During TV, movies, Netflix, DVDs whatever. Sound is lost for 1-2 seconds. Happens repeatedly, 45-90 minutes apart - haven't kept a log to see any pattern.

Does it happen immediately? How long have you had the XB1? Have you ever hard rebooted your console since you got it?

I have replaced my Kinect and my Day One Edition Controller with no problems. If you ask for the advanced replacement program they will put a hold of 399$ and will ship you out another Xbox one and you only send yours out when you receive the new one with
the return shipping label, and using the same box to send the broken one back to Microsoft.

Make sure your HDTV Firmware is up to date, if your tv doesn't have an Ethernet port or wireless network card then you might be able to update via usb, check your tv's manufacture website and model number of your tv, to see if there is a firmware update.

I wouldn't be worried about replacements now, the horror stories are from launch when there were some logistic problems and confusion at the Xbox phone support center.

Also, try to hook up your TV through your Xbox One, see if the audio cuts out there. That might help narrow the issue down. If the audio doesn't cut out it is another issue, perhaps HDD reading related when games can't read the HDD quick enough to play audio
properly, if audio does still cut out but not when the TV is plugged into the TV directly then it could be HDMI port/cable related.

Also, try plugging your Xbox One into a different HDMI slot on your TV if you have multiple and see if it is the TV port causing the cutting out.

You really shouldn't run your Xbox One at 1080 if your TV is only 720p. You won't see any improvements and are just adding extra work onto the Xbox for no real benefit. If you switch TV to 1080p later then by all means change the console setting.
