  1. Audio blow out when using headset

This happens every time I plug my headset into my controller whether it be my elite 2 controller or my stock Xbox controller. When I’m playing Spotify in the back ground, once I plug my headset in the audio blows out. Only fix with this is to go into the Spotify options while in the guide and turn the percentage between the music and gameplay audio percentage down 5% and back up.

Is this a headset problem or is there a script that turns audio up when plugging in a headset to a controller. I’ve had this for every headset I’ve had and has been going on for about a year. Using both the Aux input and stereo input does this. Using both elite 2 controller and standard Xbox one x controller. My current headset is the Polk 4Shot Xbox One gaming headset.

Please, this blows out both my headset and my sound bar unless I literally connect my headset, rush to the audio options, and flick the balance down a noch and then back up. This is getting annoying.

    Audio Problem

What kind of headset are you using? If it is an Astro A50 headset then you will need to use the Astro app to adjust your mic and eq settings as the Guide audio options are all greyed out when this headset is in use.

    Adjusting Party Chat Volume

    Hi there Ka Kase,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with audio settings for a headset.

In order to receive the audio settings through the Xbox, you will need to plug in the headset to the controller. Once you connect the headset to the controller you will be able to change any audio settings such as the Party chat volume. Unfortunately, when
you connect the headset to the tv you will only receive the audio from the TV.

Will The Turtle Beach X32 Be Compatible with the new Xbox One Headset Adapter?

If you do not have the RCA out, the only way this would work is if the Headset uses the Optical Out of the ONE

To get in to details Turtle Beach Says: Please note that you will need to connect this headset to the stereo outputs from your TV or audio receiver for game audio and use the Kinect® for game chat with Xbox One.

    www.turtlebeach.com/.../58

    Microsoft Says:

The following 3.5-mm audio headset types are supported:

A single 3.5-mm audio cable headset.

A dual 3.5-mm audio cable headset with 3.5-mm CTIA audio cables.

A headset with chat audio provided by a 3.5-mm audio cable and game audio provided by a separate cable with RCA or optical connectors. (Only chat audio will be enabled through the Stereo Headset Adapter. For RCA/optical connectors [game audio], follow the
manufacturer’s instructions to connect to the console.)

An Xbox 360 Wired Headset with a 2.5-mm audio cable. Connect to the Stereo Headset Adapter by using the 2.5-mm-to-3.5mm adapter that’s included with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

    Headset Issues (Microsoft Brand)

Hi Thump, The headset doesn’t know if you’re using your headset just for chat or for all audio, so TV audio is not automatically muted when you’re using the adapter. You must manually adjust your TV audio volume

    My game has no sound...

    Thx for the answer!

Does your monitor have built in speakers?

    Nope

Do you have a headset you can try to see if you get sound that way?

I'm always using a headset and I've tried different ones on different controllers. The sound still works when you are not running any game or app. but as soon a game starts there is no sound.

What are your actual settings for audio?

    Speaker audio:

    HDMI audio - Headset format

    Optical audio - Headset format

    Bitstream format - Off

    Headset audio:

Headset format - Windows Sonic for Headphones

Using HDMI or optica audio headset, not checked = no

    Then it says:

"All audio is optimised for headsets right now. Once you unplug your headset, it'll go back to normal."
