Attempting to link accounts to a family

Let me see if I can help you with figuring this out.

Have you attempted to log in to child account here and go down to the family settings at the bottom? This will give you the basic information for the family group that account is a part of. It won't be much because of security concerns but it might lead you to what accounts it is linked to.

You may also attempt to contact our support team here to look into the issue a bit further. Please keep in mind that they won't be able to help with every issue depending on how the accounts are linked.

Once the family accounts are identified, they will need to be logged into as only an adult in the family can remove a child account, which will allow it to be relinked to another family group. Instructions to that can be found here.

Hello Kate, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your purchases.

There are a couple of options for you here. One is to follow the instructions here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-onli... to set up a key for your account if the card is not linked to your son's account.

If the card is linked to the account and you're the parent account for him you can either log in to https://account.microsoft.com/family or download the Xbox Family app to your mobile device. Once done and logged in your can turn off his ability to make purchases or set it so that you need to approve every purchase attempt

As you have added their account to the family, is the activity being checked from an adult account that is within that same family?

Game sharing is part of your Home setting, not family settings. You would need to set the new console as your Home console in order for your brother to access anything you bought on your account (and/or he would need to set the console as his Home console
