Requiring a connection to activate or on occasion in order to play a single player/offline experience is essentially the same as "always online". If you have no access to the internet (rural areas, military) or if your connection is not sufficient for online
gaming you have no reason to buy this system.

Used game fees

Using the word fee is a bit misleading. Most fees refer to a small price paid in addition to a purchase. The used game fee is in-fact a full MSRP PURCHASE. This is the EXACT same as BLOCKING used games as the disc is nothing but an empty install that provides
ZERO gameplay without a FULL ADDITIONAL purchase.

Kinect Required

This just doesn't make sense. If we can turn it off, why does it have to be connected? "You don't have to use it...it just has to be there...." Is it paranoid to be weary of an ALWAYS on camera/microphone in 2013 (the age of constant panic and the continual
submission of privacy for the sake of "safety")?

Would have been nice but I buy new consoles to play new games. Still, others wont like this and your competitors have offered a solution.

It is obvious at this point that we will pay $400+ and $60+ per game for the permission to play our games on ONE profile SO LONG AS we connect to XBL once every 24 hours and SO LONG AS that Kinect is plugged in...apparently doing nothing or turned off?!

This is a glorified rental for $60 with EXTREME stipulations.

In short, stop playing with words. Stop hiding behind false logic. We aren't buying it (literally). There is not justification to be had for these features.

You can try to stand strong and entice as many as you can with Halo and sell some consoles but I honestly doubt that the suckers you rob for double payments will cover the costs associated with gamers fleeing to a less DRM filled system.

I've had an Xbox system in my house since 2002. I've played on Live off and on since he days of Ghost Recon.

I was almost positive I was getting the next xbox up until yesterday's reveal. Then I was at least considering it over the ps4 simply for being able to play my 360 games, once that was killed so was my pre-order. The only reason I even buy games on day
one is because once I'm done I can give them to my brother to play making it effectively a $30 purchase which is reasonable, since a second install cost full msrp there goes that thinking.

Unless m$ gets their head out of their * by e3 and makes some changes this fanbois jumping ship. I can play all the apps I need on my 360 just fine and input button on my remote still works I can wait a couple seconds for bootup sooo ill save the $500 or
spend it elsewhere. Maybe psn will charge a fee and keep up on the servers this time around.
