At first I tried something to get myself out of a problem, but now I’m stuck even worse...

Alright... Hey. So, the other night my xbox and everything was working just fine, but this morning i woke up and tried it and, DESPITE my internet working perfectly fine, every time i try to sign into my profile it loads for a good 15-20 seconds and then
finally says “You’ll need internet for this.” And it displays the error code “0x800704cf”, With the weird little rectangle button that says cancel. And keep In Mind that my account is set to no barriers, but it still wont let me on. Not any accounts at all.
The only thing i was able to do then was I could disconnect from my network, and then go on my profile and play offline games, but that was about it. So, i tried everything. Eventually I power cycled my console by going into the settings and going
to system, console info, and i selected keep my games and apps. So, after finishing THAT, finally it was time to add all of the accounts back. However, NOW every single time I click “Add Account” it just shows it buffering/loading for a few seconds and then
puts me back, with literally nothing happening. And of course I tried restarting, turning off, and even power cycling the console a SECOND time, or even tried to sign in at different places of the console, (for example where you change the privacy settings
of your account and it says ‘who are you’”) and nothing has worked.

So, alas, I am stuck at this new problem. My console is stuck with no accounts. And now I cant even disconnect myself from the network and play some offline games like I was previously able to do. And all the other advice I’ve seen from here is to power
cycle the console (which I’ve done twice), or check to see if I’m up to date with my console updates, which I am. So please, Please help!!

You don't mention whether your set up is usually wired or wireless, if wireless, try wired and vice-versa if the problem persists after power cycling your router.

Doing what you describe is not a power cycle, but is a factory refresh, keeping games & apps.

A power cycle is just turning the console off... waiting a minute and then turning it back on again.

I suspect you just needed to power cycle, turn off/on, your network hardware while your console was turned off, to reestablish a network (internet) connection.

This indicates you don't have a network connection to the internet and/or XBLive.

Connection solution support may assist you further.

Hey SethFlower when error 0x800704cf is shown its with network. Holding down the power button on your Xbox One controller then chose restart console should help. Or try re starting your router then re connect it to
your Xbox.

Another thing to do is to go back into your updates and make sure they all downloaded and installed correctly. It will show in that screen if there is an error to any of the updates. If there is an error the update will need to be done again. As one of
the other ambassadors mentioned to also check your network. Could be a NAT issues also.
