Astro A50 GEN 1 or 2 mic doesnt pick up my voice talking in party chat

bought this wireless mic awhile back for the xbox one worked fine then come to get it connected to my xbox series x but it seems as though when everything is connected and the mic is fliped down it doesnt pick up my voice but if i move the mic closer i hear my voice feed back in the headset itself whats going on?

i have my privacy settings to everyone and my nat is open

i cant hear people in party chat when the ag1 cable is connected but when i disconnected i hear it through my tv speakers

i cant update cause they stopped updating gen 1 and 2

when i go the xbox accessories under the xbox wireless controller tab it notices theres a headset attach and no updates

i cant see a wireless mic under xbox accessories cause it uses the mix amp TXD

the mic montioring feature doesnt work

im not getting the ring around my profile picture when i talk but when i move the mic closer i hear my voice feed back in the headset itself but no ring around my profile pic

i have the optical cable connected to my tv (game audio)

It sounds like there may be an issue with the microphone on your Astro A50 headset. However, we need to isolate the issue for us to conclude the issue to be for specific microphone.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Make sure the microphone is not muted. There is a button on the headset that allows you to mute and unmute the microphone.

2. Check the microphone volume. There is a dial on the headset that allows you to adjust the volume of the microphone.

3. Try resetting the headset. To do this, hold down the power button on the headset for 15 seconds, then release it.

4. Check the connections. Make sure the headset is properly connected to the Xbox Series X.

5. Try using a different USB port on the Xbox Series X.

6. Test your Astro A50 headset on a phone or PC, see if you can record a voice message or else use it on your apps.

6. Use different headphones to your console and test if issue happens.

If issue persists for these specific headsets, it could be compatibility issue and considering upgrade of Gen 4 could be beneficial for your setup. Or else, it may be necessary to contact Astro customer support for further assistance.

However, if this issue persists for all headset/headphone/microphone, let us know. Should you be getting an error message, please post it on your next reply.

I have the gen 3 astro a50. Audio is great but it does not pick up my mic?

Same issue, Astro A50 gen 4 with base station and elite series 2 contoller.

In party chat window, i light up when speaking and my friends can hear me chat, my friends icons light up when speaking but i can not hear them.

I also enjoy my Astro headset. I've got the Gen 1 A50's that I still use at work and keep my Wireless A50's at home for Xbox & PC. I still want to pick up a second base to link with my PS4.
