    Assassin's Creed III supposed backward compatibility - Xbox 360 disk doesn't work on Xbox One


    Hello everyone,

    I've got an Xbox 360 version of Assassin's Creed III, which is supposed to be compatible with Xbox One, according to the Backward Compatibility list.

    Unfortunately, there's no way to make it work.

    What is potentially wrong with it?

    There are a substantial amount of Xbox 360 games that have gained a substantial amount of votes which should be on the Xbox One Backwards compatibility list which are not at present.

    The official voting site for Xbox 360 titles that can be made backwards compatible on Xbox One shows that the

    Assassins Creed Franchise titles which are not included on the current Xbox One BC list has hit a combined 203,000+ votes that’s a lot of AC fans to win over to the Xbox One if these titles were all made backwards compatible.

    What happens when you insert your Assassin's Creed III disc into your Xbox One console? If it's your first time loading a backward compatible game disc on your Xbox One console, you should see a message saying you need an update for it to work. Once you
    apply that update, the game will begin installing.

    If that did not happen, did you see an error message and if so, can you please let us know what you saw?

    Also, if you try a full
    power cycle     of your Xbox One console and then try the disc again, did that solve the issue?

    If the DLC is for the Xbox One version of the game, then no, you can't use that DLC on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

    For example, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is a Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 game that works on the Xbox One. However, if you buy Xbox One DLC, then this will NOT work on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

    But if you get the Xbox 360 DLC content for a Backwards Compatible game, the DLC will work on the emulated Xbox 360 on Xbox One.
