After researching, I've found two possible workarounds:

1. Playing the game offline - apparently, there is an underlying issue with this game and Uplay that is causing this issue. Playing and saving your game offline will prevent that.

2. Copy your save file to a USB flash drive - some users have found success copying the file to a USB drive after a few hours of play. If the issue causes your save file to delete, you can copy the file from the USB drive and continue playing.

i think it was Assassin's Creed or maybe Assassin's Creed II

On your Xbox 360 console, when going to Assassin's Creed II simply press X on your Xbox 360 controller the purchasing options page and it should change to Microsoft Points. Doing so will make the game "Free" as you're a gold member for the rest of this month.

Facing the same problem, I have tried several actions based on the Xbox 360 Workaround.

The combination that finally did the trick for me on my Xbox One:

• remove all Assassin's Creed II game data on Xbox One (saved data (reserved space), installed game, add-ons)
  
• re-install the game (game, update and add-ons)
  
• remove on Xbox One Assassin's Creed II saved data (reserved space)
  
• start the game, in the title screen open the Xbox 360 Guide
  `(press view and start buttons) / go to "Manage Storage" / "Saved Games" / Delete: Assassin's Creed II saved game`
  exiting the menu will restart the game
  
• start a new Story session
  make sure to remove all non word characters of the session name (in my case: removed spaces)
  
• Game saves behave normal again
  

Hope this might fix it for you as well.
Possibly removing and re-installing the game is not required, but I haven't validated that scenario.

Assassin's Creed II, because it is undoubtedly the best Assassin's Creed game ever made (and has the best story of the 3 Assassin's Creed games IMO). After playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood I couldn't believe how much more fluid the movement is in Assassin's
Creed II (at least to me). It's like they went backwards with Brotherhood.

After I get bored with Assassin's Creed II, who knows. I might switch over to my Gamecube and play Twilight Princess some more, or I may go rent Red Dead Redemption and finish my playthrough with that one. Truly a remarkable game.
