Ask for permission but I'm the adult

Make sure the account you are using is not a different one by doublechecking the gamertag and email shown and you can also sign out then back again. If you are sure this is happening in the adult account, you will need to contact the online support to investigate further. Access Contact us | Xbox Support. Follow the instructions after clicking on the green button "Contact us" and choose to get help either from an online chat agent or request a callback. Make sure the region on the support website is set to your correct region in order not to find issues with the steps.

I'll give this a try. The issue I'm having is one of my child accounts no longer asks for the adult to allow permissions; it only ask for the password/pass key assigned to the child's acct. So I can't grant permissions, it only asks for the password and
pass key every time. Thanks for posting this; let's see if it solves my dilemma.

When our son tries to sign in it says "ask your parent to give you permission to finish getting set up." It prompts him to choose an adult, but when you click that, our adults accounts do not show up.

There is no other way to leave the family or change any of the settings than through adults in your family. The best thing to do is ask for a new password on the account that has adult permissions in the family and change your screen time
