The Xbox 360 Slim is unfortunately unable to connect to a wireless network hosted by the Arris TG862G (Xfinity Firmware). This has been an ongoing issue over a longer period. It is now said by Comcast that this will be resolved with a new firmware version,
expected to be released in March 2013.

You should ask Comcast to replace the Arris TG862G with a known gateway that will fully support the Xbox 360 console.

I have the same problem on 360 i dont know if one has the feature to reset network to factory but if so then try that

Although the connection works over ethernet, that is an unacceptable solution. What is the Xbox or Arris doing wrong so that it cannot connect over the wireless? Is there a time estimate on a fix? The Arris is the default router being shipped by Comcast
presently, so there are/will be MANY customers in the US experiencing this problem.

Here's what I'd try:-

Ensure your Arris wireless network broadcasts at 2.4Ghz (and not just 5Ghz is that is an option) as the internal adapter only talks at 2.4Ghz

Ensure the SSID (network name) is all one word, no spaces, no funny characters

Try turning off all wireless security / mac address lists on your router to see if you can connect with no security (just as a test)

If you can connect ok without security then that is progress, please let us know

If you cannot connect without security then you only chance is to find out if there is a firmware upgrade available for the Arris and hope it is fixed in firmware.
