    St0pe were/are you running the latest version of firmware on the SMC that is listed on their website? (just checking everything basically)

    Taidara - I have the wireless turned off, and DMZ mode forwarding the the linksys router's internet ip address. Also it isn't my schools internet, I live in an apartment and have my own cable subscription from a well known isp down here, so I doubt they're
    blocking any of the ports, but I'm not sure.

    Vibroplex - I figured you should be using one or the other, but if I do have the ports forwarded, why is the nat type only open when using ethernet if UPnP is enabled?

    Firstly. Since you have two devices doing NAT could you tell us if you have configure your "SMC8014WN-RES router / cable modem" into bridge mode.

    Xbox LIVE requires the following ports to be open:

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)

    UPnP does not get along well with Port Forwarding. If you use Port Forwarding, turn off UPnP.

    As the Shad0w mentioned, this specific wireless gateway has no proper feature to turn it into bridge mode. Have you turned off DHCP server and firewall built into the SMC? You may also want to disable "Smart packet detection" as well since this feature is
    known to cause connectivity issues.
