Ark Survival Evolved will not let me join non dedicated server with friends.

I have been attempting to join my friends non dedicated server so that we can play together but every time I try to join an error message pops up stating (join failed). I have been able to join public servers just fine and able to host games but just will not let me join a non dedicated server.

My friends haven’t been able to join me on ARK Survival Evolved (Non-Dedicated Session), Astroneer, Kingdom Two Crowns and there may be others I don’t remember.

The weird thing is that sometimes they can join me on those games and other times they can’t and it says “Failed to Connect”.

Cross play is enabled on ARK Survival Ascended, but only in dedicated servers.

Non-dedicated servers do not support cross play at the moment.

update: My friend now updated to windows 11 and it still will not work
