Ark: Survival Evolved | Play Anywhere

So I heard about the new Play Anywhere services and was trying to install Ark to play on a cross-platform server and I was unable to install the game on my computer.

The store says I already own the game and will not let me purchase it for myself and instead only lets me purchase a gift code for an email address, and I don't want to pay another $40 dollars for a game I already own. When I try to install it on my devices
it only shows consoles my account has been logging into? I was thinking about buying the DLC for Extinction for the cross-platform server but am wondering as to why I am having such difficulty installing a game I already own.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ark Survival Evolved is a full game, and Ark Extinction is an add-on. Your title and description are contrary to each other and so I'm confused.

If you purchased Ark Survival Evolved then you should be just able to play it. However, if you purchased Ark Extinction then you must also purchase Ark
Survival Evolved.

Try using the Microsoft Store app to start the download and installation. If you're looking for a direct link to open the "ARK: Survival Evolved" Store listing in the Microsoft Store app, copy and paste the following URL into a web browser:

Alternatively, you can launch the Microsoft Store app from the Start menu, then search the Store for "ARK: Survival Evolved" to get to the
listing. Windows help has an overview of
how to launch and use the Microsoft Store app.

It sounds like you haven't signed in to your PC using your Microsoft account yet (or you would have seen your PC in the list of devices in
Install on my devices), so you'll need to do that to start the download and installation for your already-purchased license. You should be prompted to do so once you start to interact with the Store listing in the app.
