Argos - unable to activate XBox Live Gold 12-month subscription cards

Thanks for your quick reply. I will take this up with head office. They know exactly what they're doing, yet they continue to advertise this. They still have the cards on the shelf in every store. Are Microsoft "in dispute" with Argos due to this offer?

Argos don't even do a Pre-auth on the card, try to activate it and if successful complete the transaction or rollback. They actually take the money and then have to authorise a refund. Utterly despicable. I will have to buy from another vendor to renew my
subscription.

Unfortunately this sounds like an argos problem rather than a Microsoft problem

It could also be the pay point was also down on the day of purchase, but head office would know more about the issue. There hasn't been any issue between the known publicly known, so we cannot say if there is a dispute or not sadly. It might be fixed by
the day you report this to head office, in case there was a technical issue activating the card.

It the same over in Ireland in argos it would not work when i tried buy it aswell
