Are there plans to re-release Wolfenstein 2009 on windows

Microsoft has not acquired Activision, and is forbidden from having any input into their business beyond existing contracts until that happens. Any announcements of such a thing would come via official news and social media channels, if and when the merger is completed, and they decided to do it.

any plans for Activision titles will be announced at a later date probably around the beginning of the year. Microsoft was legally prohibited from having anything to do with their business until the merger closed a few weeks ago. no one here has any advanced knowledge, we find out at the same time you do.

If you buy the new version of the game like I did, you will earn bonus cash in the game Wolfenstein which was released in 2009. Its a pretty good game so Id recommend buying that aswell. Also wolfenstein the new order is amazing

What? There are a whole slew of Wolfenstein games. I've played the original id Wolfenstein, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the remake of Wolfenstein in 2009. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was the one I enjoyed the most. Sadly, it kind of lost something
over the years and started looking like every other FPS.

This is a community forum, so your guess is as good as ours. What I can tell you is that Microsoft announced in November 2021 that the last batch of BC games to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xbox would be the last.

Also, it's important to understand that presently while Activision's board agreed to be purchased by Microsoft, MS doesn't own Activision yet, it's not a completed deal. This won't complete until 2023, assuming there are no legal objections.

Since Microsoft has officially ended BC there is little chance of Wolfenstein 2009 coming back to Xbox. The PC version has a much better chance. But honestly, we have no idea.
