Are there any Account Recovery success stories? If so, I could use some tips

    Hello everyone,

My Xbox asked for my password, I put in the correct password after two incorrect attempts, and then it asked me to verify my identity with a code to a phone that was stolen months ago. I don’t have that phone, because it was stolen, so I had to start account recovery. I answered the questions to the best of my ability; name, DOB, state, zip code, console ID, gamertag, credit card info, etc. But I have not gotten a response from the automated system, it’s been two days, and I’ve submitted the form multiple times.

I’ve had this account since the 360 days, through the Xbox One, to my series X, it has tons of games and progress that I don’t want to lose. Any tips from those that successfully recovered their account? Or even more unlikely, anyone from microsoft that could actually help me?

    :)

Are there any Account Recovery success stories? If so, I could use some tips

Hello, ByRbar1. I'm Arturo, a community user like you, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble recovering a Microsoft account.

IMPORTANT: Please don't share personal information, including emails, gamertags, phone numbers, etc.

As community users like you, we are not able to enter or check your account information, and everything we comment can be seen by anyone on the internet.

That being said and based on the information you provided, it seems that you have two-step verification enabled on the Microsoft account you want to recover.

Not only that, but please note that if you enabled 2-step verification in the past, the recovery form will not work. Therefore, this is the reason the form is not being accepted.

Additionally, this statement is available in the recovery form, below the “email address, phone number or Skype name” field.

https://account.live.com/acsr > Note: If you've turned on two-step verification, you can't recover your account this way.

However, what I can recommend you is attempting to recover the account by following other methods available in this related thread:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/807eb190-bd08-42cf-9caf-c7123154b5b5?auth=1

Furthermore, and as a general recommendation provided in this thread I shared above, please note that having our security information updated is our responsibility.

Moreover, you may want to check out this article about contacting Microsoft support regarding a lost account:

I know this is not the answer you were expecting, but your kindness and understanding are appreciated.

If you have any other inquiries, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Arturo.

Destiny 2 back on an XBOX one, importing game tag

Technically, your "old gamertag" is an older Microsoft account. To be able to use your older profile to play Destiny 2 on Xbox One, you will need to recover that Microsoft account. Try to submit an account recovery form at http://account.live.com/acsr and
once you do, expect to receive an email within 24 hours with an update to your recovery request.

Nessun accesso troppi tentativi (No access too many attempts)

    Hello Parzolu,

We understand that you're experiencing an issue concerning an inability to sign into your Microsoft account.

Have you successfully gone through the account recovery form when attempting to
    recover your Microsoft account?

If the recovery is successful, it may be best to have the account reviewed by our customer support team as our forums community does not carry the tools needed to be able to do so.

If you have not been able to successfully complete the account recovery, please attempt the account recovery form again, and please use our support article linked above for helpful tips on completing the form.

Try this for us or clarify the information asked. We await your reply.

    Best wishes!
