Are redeem codes for US region locked for Mexico region?

Well, I asked because I have a friend from Mexico who has an Xbox Live account and I had this redeem code for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate I was going to give it away to that person. But first, I have to know if it will work? I already know that US region redeem
codes will never work for Europe, Asia, Australia or Canada.

It depends on the code. It's always best to buy a code for the same region it's going to be redeemed in.

Codes are also region locked via the IP address of your connection. The code that was accepted in mexico is because that's where you were physically. Now you are back in the US you will not be able to redeem that card

Well two things you can buy a game on xbox store Argentina and get mexico

Game codes are region locked and cannot be cross bought

And please edit the picture as you don't want anyone else to redeem the code

If your account is an Mexican account you cannot GIFT a code to an Argentina account

Gifting is REGION locked

And xbox store Argentina will not accept Mexican creditcard for purchases it has to be a local card to the region

If you did it via yoir account that's why the codes are region locked

That's why is super odd the email saying it can only be redeemed in Mexico Store

well MS points only work in the region they are purchased in

even if he buys ms points from the US they will only work in the US accounts

mexican accounts and prepaid codes including MOST subscription cards only work in the region they are purchased in



if you choose to try and use the migration tool there is no way around the 90day use

also region locked content will not be available to you and you forfeit any region locked content from mexico



it is always best to buy codes from your actual region

i donno why people keep thinking gifting is a good idea

coides and ms points are region locked to prevent issues like this
