Are players notified of reports being filed against them? Threats of violence?

Hello,

I hope I'm posting this in the most appropriate area. I was recently playing Ark: Survival Evolved and unfortunately another player had decided to harass everyone else in the game. This was an online PVP environment so trolling is to be expected, and normally
I would shrug it off. However, the player in question was spewing out some alarming hate and threats of violence to another player (threats of a mass public shooting, etc.), so to be safe I reported the behavior.

Shortly after issuing the report I received an Xbox Live message from the player that just said 'lol', and I've since started getting weird and threatening messages in other online services. I can't say with absolute certainty that they're related, but as
someone who virtually never uses forums or sends messages to anyone other than close friends, the timing is incredibly suspect.

Would this player have been notified that I reported him? Is there any chance he would've been given any of my personal information? Again, normally I shrug things like this off, but with the violent threats and harassment, I thought it should at least
be reported.

Any help, advice or information would be very much appreciated.

You will not be notified about any enforcement actions against any other user, it's not how they (XBLPET) work, just rest assured that if anybody behaves this way and has a (even a single complaint gets the PETs attention) complaint filed against them, it
will be reviewed and the necessary actions taken against them.

As the above poster mentioned, you are encouraged to call your local law enforcement if you do feel that you are really in danger.

Sorry you have to deal with this kind of nonsense.

Threats to hack my account.

How do you know this person has not been suspended?

On the odd occasion you may get a message thanking you if someone gets banned/suspended due to a report you filed but other than that the enforcement team wont tell you the results of a report you've filed.

As an ambassador you should know calling out gamertags is against forum rules & how to report someone on your console.

Why is it people think that anyone cares if they go to PSN or not?

Complaints are filed anonymously and users are not notified when they've been reported. it does seem suspect, but unless you specifically messaged him telling him you reported him, there would be no way for him to know you did it or even that he had been
reported at all.

Okay, thank you for the explanation. The situation is very strange and a little unsettling to me, but I'm glad to know the reporting is anonymous. Thank you again for the help.

Report and block the user do not engage with them as you can then be reported yourself. If they create an alternate account report and block that too. If it is physical threats of violence and you know the individual you can always screenshot that and
report it to the authorities.

While none of what those people have said to you is excusable, it doesn't give you a pass to also violate the terms of service in response. Getting a reaction is exactly what they want - don't feed the trolls. Playing with someone you don't like? Block
them. That player spouts hatespeech or turns to threats of violence? Report them. Block and report are there to prevent situations exactly like this.
